Integration of ISO Certification & Audit in Energo-Pro Bulgaria EAD
22 February 2010, Sofia, Bulgaria

Energo-Pro Bulgaria EAD was certified under the requirements of the International Standardization Organization (ISO) and was granted certificates for three standards: ISO 9001:2008 (Quality Management), ISO 14001:2004 (Environmental Management) and OHSAS 18001:2007 (Occupational Health & Safety Management).
The integrated management system was introduced into the company in the autumn of 2009. Most of the documentation was prepared by our Labour Safety Specialist and was presented to the auditors from Moody International - a broad-based management system certification organization.
The audit took place within two stages – Stage 1 was held on November 19th and 20th and Stage 2 – on November 30th, December 1st and 2nd. After the audit in Head office in Sofia the auditors visited Sandanska Bistritsa and Petrohan Cascades. The audit was successfully accomplished and at the beginning of February 2010 Energo-Pro Bulgaria was granted the ISO Certificates.
The integrated management system is a scheme of the processes and procedures used to ensure that an organization can fulfill all tasks required to achieve its objectives, to deal with the root cause of the problem seeking and keep records to use as a tool to improve the system. The system’s model for success is "Plan, Do, Check, Act." For instance, an environmental management system enables organizations to improve their environmental performance through a process of continuous improvement. Analogously, an occupational health and safety management system (OHSMS) enables an organization to control its labour safety risks and to improve its performance.
An ISO certificate is not a once-and-for-all award - it must be renewed at regular intervals recommended by the certification body. Usually this period is around three years.
